Short answer: 4Sure runs truck-mounted and portable extractors, commercial-grade air movers, LGR (low-grain refrigerant) dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers, thermal imaging cameras, and pin/pinless moisture meters. The equipment matters less than knowing when and how to use each piece. Our IICRC-certified technicians scope every job to the materials and the conditions, not to a standard “same-truck” approach.
Why equipment matters (and when it doesn’t)
Companies love to list their equipment because it looks professional. The truth is that most restoration companies in Utah County use similar brands and models. The real difference is knowing when to use which piece, how to position it for a specific room geometry, and when to add more. A single poorly-placed air mover does nothing; the same unit two feet different can finish a wall in a day instead of three.
Our technicians are IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), and Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT). Equipment is the tool; training is the hand that uses it.
Water extraction
Our primary extraction equipment for large losses. Pulls hundreds of gallons quickly from carpet, pad, and hard surfaces. Mounted in the response vehicle, works outside the home, no portable units blocking the floor plan.
For spots the truck-mounted hose cannot reach, upper floors, or specific areas requiring more precise work.
Structural drying
High-velocity, low-static-pressure fans that create directed airflow across wet surfaces. Positioned at specific angles to the wet material based on room geometry. Standard rule of thumb (one per 10-16 linear feet of wet wall), but we adjust up for cavity drying and bowed/warped surfaces.
Standard-refrigerant dehumidifiers struggle below about 50% RH because they rely on condensation. LGR units use heat exchangers to pull moisture from already-dry-feeling air down to 25% RH. Essential for closed drying systems, Utah’s dry winters, and later stages of any job. Our warehouse keeps a bank of Phoenix LGR dehumidifiers rotated through jobs so a fresh unit is always ready to deploy.
For below-grade spaces, large commercial losses, or when LGR units cannot reach target humidity. Desiccants use silica gel to absorb moisture; they work in cold or very dry conditions where refrigerant dehumidifiers lose efficiency.
Diagnostic tools
FLIR E8-XT thermal cameras show temperature differences caused by hidden moisture. A wet cavity reads cooler than a dry one. Lets us find moisture behind drywall without cutting it open. Standard on every inspection.
Pin meters measure moisture content directly in materials by electrical resistance between two probes. Pinless meters read capacitance through a surface. We use both: pinless to scan quickly, pin to confirm with precision. Readings get mapped to a floor plan so we can track drying progress day by day.
Measures ambient temperature and humidity. Used to track drying progress and verify dehumidifier performance.
Mold remediation equipment
Predator 750 commercial-grade units with HEPA filters that remove 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns. Run during and after mold work, creating a negative pressure differential of -5 to -10 Pascals inside the containment that keeps spores from traveling out.
Specifically for setting up pressure differentials inside mold containment. Air is drawn into the containment through the plastic sheeting, filtered through HEPA, and exhausted outside.
For mechanical cleaning of mold-penetrated wood (attic sheathing most commonly). Soda blasting removes the top layer of wood fiber plus embedded mold roots without raising the grain or damaging the structure the way sanding would.
For removing surface spores and loose material before any mechanical cleaning. Not standard shop vacs — HEPA-filtered to prevent redistributing spores.
Personal protective equipment
For Category 3 (sewage) water losses and mold remediation we use full PPE: N95 or P100 respirators, full-body Tyvek suits, nitrile gloves, boot covers, and eye protection. For Category 1-2 water losses we scale PPE to exposure. Our techs are trained in OSHA respirator fit testing and we don’t cut corners because PPE is uncomfortable.
What our Spanish Fork response vehicles carry
Every response vehicle has: truck-mounted and portable extractors, 10-20 air movers, 2-4 dehumidifiers (mix of LGR and standard), 2-4 HEPA air scrubbers, moisture meters, thermal camera, containment materials (plastic sheeting, zip walls), antimicrobial, PPE, and the basic hand tools for cut-outs and setup. Bigger jobs we return with additional equipment the same day.
